Kristin Fisher joined the CNN Space and Defense Correspondent team on July 20, 2021. As the Correspondent for Defence and Space at CNN, she has for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the growth and advent in space travel. Kristin has a background in the field of space as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. In the past five years, she's reported on space policy during the Biden and Trump Administrations on FOX News. In that period, she also covered two impeachment proceedings for President Trump and the presdiential 2020 campaign, and two attempts by the administration to stop the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, she went on trips with President Trump and Vice President Biden often. It included a secret trip to Afghanistan. Kristin was a fixture in the regional news market of Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, and Washington, D.C. for nearly a decade before joining the CBS network. She won one Emmy Award in Washington, D.C. as a CBS station's reporter who was a one-man band. Kristin began Field Mouse Films with her expertise behind the camera in 2014. The company specialized in producing documentaries for corporate clients including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin graduated with a Bachelors of Science in journalism from Boston University. She and her husband reside and their two children in Washington, D.C., and has a three-year old daughter.
